Oscar Anderson (Attributed). Oscar Anderson was born in Gotland Sweden and immigrated to the United states around 1900. He first settled in Connecticut before moving to Gloucester, MA in 1908. He is best known for inventing the Anderson (or Gloucester) easel which allowed artists to swivel the canvas while working in plein air.
