Plein Air Study, original oil on panel done in a rural setting in impasto technique. I paint outdoors, on location frequently. This 12"X12" study is titled "Left At The Gate", done in late summer just as the leaves were beginning to change colors so the heavily shaded trees still had green leaves and the fallen leaves had turned brilliant orange and yellow around the weather wood of the deserted gate structure.
