Two ladies are dealing with a problem...one of them is going to get wet in order to retrieve that boat. The lady in the foreground seems to giving orders to the other - "you get the boat, I'll wait here". Maybe it's a tidal body of water, and the boat was against dry land when they disembarked for their picnic. Hungarian-born artist Imre Buvary painted a picture open to interpretation, and that's ours. The beauty and wonder of fine art lies in the individual viewer's take on it.
