11.5x 5.5” x 2” “Demaray Serpant” 1990 Born in 1969, Michael is the grandson of outsider artist Howard Finster. He dropped out of high school to help Howard with his work, cutting plywood for his grandfather's stand-up pieces and applying base coats of paint for Howard to then paint over. His subjects are primarily from the natural world --- snakes, birds, crawling things and religious visions. While the religious imagery is prominent in his work, he also manifests a playful sense of humor and an interest in mythical creatures, such as dragons and aliens.
