This colorful landscape by Liliana Sereni is one I have favored because of it's beauty but also it is one of the first works of art I purchased on a trip to Italy in 1969. I like the free style and bold use of colors and subject of nature is almost always her favorite it seems. It is signed by the Artist on the front right bottom. The image on canvas measures 23.5 inches wide x 12 inches tall. Liliana Sereni is an Italian painter born in Capri, Italy March 29, 1932 and lives in New York State,NY. Her works are known and owned all over the world as she has quite an International following. Her father was the famous Italian painter Ezelino Briante and after the family moved to Rome she followed his footsteps and took lessons from him and then began her legacy to become a painter. She studied fine art in Rome and Venice and Florence often frequented the studios of famous artists. In 1966, she was among a very limited number of artists among the 700 entrants, who were then asked to show 3 of their selections to participate at the Quadriennale d'Europe held in London. Ms. Sereni's works have been appreciated for some time now in Italy and United States and world wide and are to be found in important art galleries and in many private collections.
