Jan Van Hest ( Dutch School, 19th C ) Oil On Canvas Antique Painting of Utrecht

A gorgeous and colorful genre scene oil painting of two young flirtatious villagers in an elaborate landscape, with original gilt wood frame. Signed bottom left and entitled “Utrecht” noting the famous location in the Netherlands. The painting itself is in very good original condition for its age (circa 1890s), with no loss or in-painting, no flakes, and minor craquelure throughout. The backing paper has been removed to show original European wood stretcher, and clean back canvas- a true antique original work of art. The original framing has some minor flakes and loss down to gesso but in overall good condition (see photos as detail). A phenomenal statement piece in large format measuring approximately : 27 x 22 inches (stretched) and 36 1/2 x 31 1/4 inches (overall with frame).
