Winter Sap House Vintage Oil Painting by Robert Bradshaw (1915-2004) listed

this is a cute vintage impressionistic oil painting on masonite board done in the 1970's - 1980's by listed artist Robert Bradshaw (1915-2004) depicting a New England late winter / early spring sap shack in operation with smoke billowing out of its single chimney - in front of the sap shack is a woodsman hauling two buckets of boiled sap attached to either side of a wooden yoke which is set behind his neck & onto his shoulders to balance the heavy sap buckets -note that the woodsman is wearing the quintessential red plaid wool shirt worn by outside winter workers in the Northeast - the red sap buckets were the type found by sap operations in the 19th century right up to the 1960's & 1970's - the artist painted the sap boiling shack in very pale gray to suggest a very weather-beaten exterior - the snow-covered fields behind the sap shack appear to hold newly fallen snow as their color is fairly bright white - in the background, however, we see a low & rounded mountain typical of the mountains found in Vermont with very little snow cover as if to suggest that the winter winds had blown much of its snow cover away - this scene appears to be in early spring - the painting measures 24" x 15" sight size, & is in very good vintage condition - it is enhanced by its silver-colored wooden frame which measures 25" x 16" & is in good vintage condition -
