I decided to do a bit of conservation work with the help of my framer, and I removed the old glass and replaced it with plexiglass and made sure he used acid free matting to protect the artwork. I kept the original frame, which I thought complemented the piece well. When you scroll through the photos, you can see that on the edges around the image there are some glue marks that have become a yellowish color over the years, and a little can be seen in the top part of the image, but the colors are pretty amazing considering its age. It is signed on the bottom in the lower left-hand corner. It measures approximately 17 1/2 x 15 1/2” framed, and the viewable image size approximately 11 x 8 1/4”. There was also a gallery label on the back that I reattached. It was from a gallery in Amherst Massachusetts called “The Gallery”, that possibly framed or sold the artists work. Thanks for your interest.
