Framed art by Virginia Berton (1922-2012), Measures Framed 23” x 19” x 1.75” Appears to be charcoal and watercolor About the artist: Virginia Berton joined the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, and rose to the rank of Corporal. Honorably discharged in 1946, she remained in Germany, working for, among other organizations, the American Red Cross and the EUCOM Motion Picture Service. In 1959 she joined the U. S. Army & Air Force Motion Picture Service, which gave her the opportunity to visit Japan. Her early interest in art took a definite turn in 1964, when she resigned her job in order to pursue art studies full time at the Instituto Allende, in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
