Original mid to late 20th century oil painting on board by Hungarian artist W.E. Van Groot depicting a romantic rural village landscape with cottages, figures, trees, livestock and a stream. Executed in a traditional European Romantic style with warm tones and detailed brushwork. Signed lower left “W.E. van Groot.” Image size measures 48 by 68.5 cm and is presented in a carved gilt wood frame measuring 64 by 84.5 cm, unglazed. Biography label verso. Painting is in good condition with slight age discolouration. Frame displays light wear and minor retouching.
