Mrs. Bernstein was an artist as well as an ardent supporter of the arts, including the Washington Ballet. A native Washingtonian, she was the Fashion Editor of the Potomac Almanac and later worked at Neiman Marcus as a Public Relations Manager. Mrs. Bernstein was a prolific artist, specializing in watercolors of botanicals. She was a member of Studio 155, contributing works to local galleries and shows including “Botanical Treasures of Lewis & Clark: New Art for the Bicentennial” in 2006 at the Corcoran Gallery of Art and “Beyond Words: The Symbolic Language of Plants” in 2012 at the Delaware Art Museum. She also contributed to “Simple Gifts” in 2010, the annual booklet commissioned by the White House for holiday visitors.
