Portrait Study Mrs Maxwell Muirhead Scottish School Oil Painting c1820/30 ARTIST:, Early 19thC Scottish Figurative School SUBJECT: Mrs Maxwell Muirhead, (nee Fleming) who in 1811 married Reverend George Muirhead (1764 – 1847);, half-length study, seated in a chair; Reverend Muirhead was a Minister of the Church of Scotland and later, a founding senior minister in the Free Church of Scotland. Mrs Muirhead had four children who included the Reverend Patrick Thomas Muirhead, (1819 – 1888), minister of the Free Church of Scotland in Kappen. Mrs Muirhead died in 1854.
