The miniature is clearly signed and dated at lower right corner - "Pazelt 1832"; it is an original work of listed German miniaturist Paezelt (Pätzelt, Patzelt). According toThieme-Becker, Paezelt was mentioned in 1842 in Leipzig and was probably an itinerant artist traveling throughout German countries. His works are extremely rare.
