An original hand painted watercolor on thick art paper by the late Russell Yerkes. The painting is 22” x 29.5” and in the frame is 39” x 45”. It’s a large, solid sized framed art behind glass weighing close to 11 lbs with birch wood. The painting is one of Mr Yerkes first works of art before the craze to buy his artwork took off around 1990. After passing away recently, his paintings are highly sought after intensely when the Smithsonian announced it will purchase 3 pieces of his art for the Smithsonian American Artists Collection. You can own one of his most loved and probably most favorite land painting. Russell Yerkes was inspired by the first announcements of the Jaguar becoming extinct in the 1980’s with the depleting/clearing of the rainforest. He donated 50% of the proceeds from my purchase of this painting to help preserve the rainforest in 1989. He was a good human and great artist by any account. Here’s your chance to own a piece of American History from the 80’s at a bargain. It’s been valued at over 25,000.00 by my insurance company. Thank you for stopping in to check out this amazing original piece by the late Russell Yerkes!
