Jospeh Wipff was a county commissioner for fourteen years from 1890 to 1904. While holding this office he and two other's laid out the Del Rio-Eagle Pass highway to the Kinney County line. Little change has been made in the original road bed after the advent of the automobile and hard paved roads. For many years he also served as a trustee for the Quemado Olmos Mines and Las Moras schools. Today (about 1978) Cyrill Wipff lives on the ranch in the home that his father built. Frances resides in Houston and their brother's widow, Martha Wipff lives in a Del Rio Nursing Home. Karl and Martha's children and grandchildren help with the rance duties. Their children Joseph Karl Wipff , Jr. married Elberta Jane Schuch and they have two sons, Joseph Karl Wipff III, and Russell Tolliver Wiptt. Martha Ray Ann Wipff married Charles (Bud) Franklin Carter III and they have two sons, Karl Franklin Carter and Carson Lee Carter. Caroline Christine Wipff, married Lary Max Holloway and they have a son and a daughter, Larry Max II and Michele Christine Holloway. Frances Ethel Wipff married Frank Joseph Hedrick and they have two sons, Frank Joseph, Jr. and Dary Leo Hedrick. Frances still ownes some properties in Eagle Pass. Dr. and Mrs. L. Jeffers owns the Wipff home loacted in Eagle Pass and have llived there since purchasing it. Charles and Martha Carter are living in the old rock house (the Chupedero) which was renovated by her father in 1938, on the North Wipff Ranch today. Karl and Berta Wipff live in Del Rio and he is manager of the Ranch. The Ranche's income consists mostly of the cattle raised there and from several oil producing wells, which were drilled by a long time friend of the Family and TG Shaw of Fort Worth."
