Original Fred Stout 1960's #7 Sportscar Racing Watercolor/Gouache Series Extremely Rare. This series consists of 1 framed Fred Stout 1117 framed original watercolor/gouache? (Unsure of medium) painting. 5 unframed 11x17 paintings as well as what I believe to be the inspiration for the series. 1 original framed Dave Gulick photograph. The paintings all have a 9x15 viewable thumbprint. They all are of a #7 themed car (different makes/model) and are all signed. They were all framed and matted, but all but 1 of the frames were in bad shape when we purchased them. They are all on illustration board, which is rare for his work. Typically what you find of his is oil on canvas From discussions that I have had these could all be from a potential commissioned work. Whether that commissioned piece was ever fullfilled, I do not know. No one that I have spoke with has knowledge of this particular work. Fred's work has been in several museums including the Indianapolis Speedway Museum. His work has been sold through Christie's and Sotheby's auction houses. I have not been able to find anything like this. So this is extremely rare. I have priced this by piece at an extreme discount of what his work has sold for in the past. I am always open to reasonable offers. But I am also offering this up very reluctantly. My husband would prefer to keep it. :) If you have questions or would like more pics, feel free to message me. Thanks in advance
