BIO:I am Torey Ransom, an artist from the California, and my work is a testament to the beauty of spontaneity and divine inspiration. I started painting during supernatural experiences during a drug induced psychosis. At this time, when everything was unrecognizable and falling apart, I was given this feeling of a need to use color. At this time, I had never done anything truly fulfilling or positive as I had been in the grips of addiction for over a decade. Buying a canvas is the first memory I have about having a desire to do something that was positive and productive, instead of destructive. During these experiences, I was changed forever, and I had the first feeling of God in my heart. After receiving this blessing, I chose to allow my art to be a consistent act of faith that not only is God always with me, but that who God has changed me to be is good enough. My art is created in a single, unbroken flow, capturing the raw essence of each moment before the paint dries. In my process, there are no corrections, no premeditated plans—only an immediate expression of who I am.This method is my statement that I am exactly who God intended me to be, without excessive correction, effort, or a desire to emulate. Each piece reflects my belief that the natural, unaltered self is beautiful and complete.
