They transported fruit from the tropics, mostly bananas and usually a few passengers to Europe and the United States. Founded in 1899, the company survived until 1970 when it was taken over by the Chicquita (Banana) Company. This is a true miniature painting. Its size is 2-3/4" x 4-1/2" It's double matted with the mat size being 6-1/2" x 8" (Plenty of room to trim down to perhaps fit a smaller frame). Painting and mat are relatively new (2023) and are both in excellent condition. Full price of the painting and mats is $150.00 and includes free insured shipping to any destination within the Continental US.____________________________
