Layne Catherine Anderson (Albuquerque, New Mexico, XX-XXI century) is a contemporary artist based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She studied art at Western New Mexico University and is known for being an artist-in-residence at Blind Cat's Bad Acid Art Company. She was an artist active in the early 1970s, recognized for her work in the Chinook newspaper in 1972. She created the front-page artwork for the newspaper's final issue published on Valentine's Day in 1972. This is one of three painting I recently bought by the artist at a local estate. The painting is a watercolor on paper depicting a surreal portrait of woman with horse and rider with flag.
