From 1882 to 1914 he exhibited landscapes of Lorraine where water is very often present in several salons in France: Carcassonne, Epinal, Mulhouse, Remiremont and Paris (French Artists). Landscape painter, he was born in Sivry sur Meuse (55) in 1846. His Masters were Harpignies, Yon and Edmond Petitjean. He exhibited landscapes at the Salon de Nancy between 1880 ("Le chemin du moulin à Consenvoye" purchased by the SLAA) and at least 1924: "les Mortes de Tonnoy-sur-Moselle" (1882) - Une mare (1884) - Les Prés matures, Dombasle overcast, Dans la Prairie à Essey, Surroundings of Nancy (1886) - Meuse landscape, the Meuse at Charleville in 1907, etc. In 1920, he resided in Paris.
