From 1836 to 1840 he held a studio in Palais-Royal (galerie de pierre, No. 148). He exhibited at the Salon de Paris from 1833 to 1837. His early miniatures resemble works of pupils of J.-B. Set into original (silver with gold) brooch, this miniature portrait of a young gentleman from the 1810s is a work of well-known Parisian miniaturist, Joseph Dubasty.
