Arimany va destacar pel tractament que atorgava a la figura humana atesos els seus amplis coneixements d’anatomia. Dins la seva obra, destaquen El Crist de Montserrat, instal·lat a la basílica de Montserrat, i altres de temàtica religiosa exhibides al Vaticà, així com una extensa obra de retrat. Va realitzar la seva primera exposició individual l’any 1973. Ha rebut nombrosos premis, entre ells la Medalla d’Or en el concurs Internacional de Metges Pintors (1969), dos premis en el Concurs Quiron de Barcelona (1983 i 1985), i guardons en concursos de pintura de Granollers (1944, 1945 i 1950) i Palamós (1980).
