Born in the Spanish province of Galicia in 1933, Castillo is a painter, graphic artist and sculptor. Jorge Castillo Casalderrey, was born in Pontevedra. Along with Matta and Lam, is one of the great painters of the avant-garde Surrealist and Formalist Spanish, as well as an excellent printmaker, and sculptor.
