John Coultrup Vintage California Forest River Landscape Impressionism Painting

Listed artist: John Alfred Coultrup (b.1888 - 1982) California, Kansas. Medium: oil on board (looks like Upson board) Dates: exact age is unknown-painting is not dated. Looks to be around the 40’s to 50’s. Signed on front lower left The back of the painting has writing on it-not sure if this was the artist or someone else. Vintage wood frame Measures: Painting 15” x 30” (hand cut board-edges are slightly uneven) Frame 23.25” x 38.25” Condition: Frame abrasion with visible paint loss, tiny spots and stains throughout, little paint flecks and paint chips, toning from age, mild abrasion/surface holes, some light surface scratches and wear. Staining along the side margins from frame abrasions. This means the painting shifting and moved causing surface loss and paint. Could use some mild touch up but certainly not necessary to hang right away and ENJOY! This is a beautiful painting by a fantastic artist! Frame condition: Dings, chips, scuffs, scratches, light staining and toning to lining with other wear from use. Back of frame shows hand cuts to rabbet. Painting is hand cut and slightly uneven.
