JAYNE MANSFIELD Original PULP PAINTING on CANVAS by David Russell Talbott

Original one of a kind painting of Jayne Mansfield and her pet Chihuahua, who sadly died in a car crash in 1967 when her Buick slammed into the back of a truck, obscured by a pesticide fog, being sprayed for mosquitos in the area. Some say that she had been cursed by Anton LeVay, leader of the Church of Satan, for recently leaving his flock in Los Angeles. It's all there. The piece was from an exhibition called "Hollywood Eats Its Own: Rumors, Death, and Scandal in Tinseltown" created by pulp surrealist David Russell Talbott, signed on the bottom right by the artist. The painting measures 24" x 36" , acrylic on canvas, 1/2" deep. The art work does have a black box frame 1/8" wide along painting edge, 1 1/2" deep. Sometime associated with the California Lowbrow scene, Talbott has shown his work across the U.S., and his art has been published internationally. His paintings have been recognized by curators from MOMA, MOCASD, and the Whitney, as well as lowbrow icon's La Luz de Jesus Gallery's Billy Shire and art critic Mat Gleason.
