Howard Rackliffe Mixed Media On Board Signed Dated 1950 Baroque Beach Pelicans

This stunning piece by Howard Rackliffe 1917- 1987 is a true masterpiece. Created in the mid 20th century, this mixed media painting on board is a beautiful representation of a seascape with pelicans. The artist's signature is prominently displayed lower right and on reverse along with the year of production and the location of origin. The piece is vintage framed 21 x 32, and the image measures 15 x 27 inches in height. The title" Baroque Beach "with Pelicans dated 1950 shows the strong influence that Marsden Hartley had on Howard Rackliffes work and this is a rare early example, from information gathered on the reverse of painting seems to indicate it was framed or reframed in 1963 which would explain the double signature as the current outer margin does not show the lower signature with date. Condition..very good with bright colors no scuffs however Please note there is some loss of color mostly spotted in upper right and some on upper left this condition issue in my opinion is very minor and easily touched up by a competent restorer..would take less than an hour to correct properly and should be very reasonable in cost if needed at all.
