Guy Carleton Wiggins Impressionist Harbor Scene Oil Painting, Gloucester

A fine impressionist harbor scene in Gloucester, Massachusetts by American artist Guy Carleton Wiggins (1883-1962). Wiggins was born in Brooklyn, New York, and had a long and successful career as an Impressionist artist and teacher in New York and Connecticut. He is best known for his snow scenes of New York City. Oil on artists board, signed lower right, and title inscribed by artist on verso “Gloucester,” and housed under glass in a decorative antique carved giltwood frame.
