Don C. Corwin renders a placid forest scene and a road cutting through it, appearing reminiscent of a tree trunk. The slanted wooden fence adds some ambiguity to the picture. It is a space where nature and manmade construction meet. There is a relationship between those two elements, however slanted and incongruous it can be at times. This scene is a zone of transition.
