Fernand Guignier (France, 1902-1972) was a student of the sculptors Emil Derre and Jean-Antoine Injalbert at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. Most known for Street scene watercolor painting, child figure sculpture, ceramics. This painting is a French street scene, it is watercolor on paper and depicts a street/ alley way with figures walking by centuries old buildings, a child stops to watch a street artist at his craft, with architecture of church in background. The painting is signed and dated lower right "Guignier 1953". It is housed in a finished corner gilt wood frame with linen wrapped mat over off-white mat with protective glass front. Measures; sight size 16 1/2" x 12 1/4", framed 23 1/2" x 18 1/2" .
