Faux 3D Studded Hammer & Anvil & Flames Flagstone Art Painting By Elissa Shakal

This painting is titled, "(What Comes) Between The Hammer And The Anvil." The answer is plain to see... Studs! I have favored flagstone as my canvas of choice since 1997. My art has been sold/displayed professionally in galleries and shops since 1998. I regard flagstone as the earth's natural canvas. No two pieces of stone are ever alike in color, shape, or texture...until recently. For this artistic endeavor, I use uniformly cut pieces of flagstone to resemble vinyl albums. As they are still nature's canvas, imperfections may exist. These pieces are approximately 12" H x 12" W x 1/2" thick. A metal easel/stand is included. This particular painting is from my "rock-on-rock" collection. Aptly named...as the art is on stone, with the subject matter predominantly music/metal/industrial themed. Music is a constant source of inspiration, as well as the fashions/accessories, and icons associated with all genres of music. This painting was inspired by a "Judas Priest" song title. I am passionate about incorporating metallic and pearlized paints, along with faux-finish effects, shadow and light...and especially 3D-effects. The silver "metal" studs in this painting are so realistic...you can't resist touching! Each stud is hand-painted, one at a time...with much love and joy.
