E. Miller" and dated there '32. The actual first part of the signature is difficult to read, but on the stretcher in pencil is written "E. E. Miller". Further net research results in an identification of the artist as one Eugenia E. Miller, 1903-1959, an apparently Washington D.C.-based artist who is known to have painted works of the Blue Ridge countryside, and, also, in Santa Fe in the late 1920's.
