Ammann, Emma (1919-1981): Emma Katherine Mathilda Ammann, the daughter of Everett and Emma M. Ammann, was born near Weimar on November 24, 1919. Stricken with arthritis when she was 15, her condition gradually deteriorated until, when she was 28, she was confined to a wheelchair.
