Electra Malone (1911-1992) is a very well listed Texas watercolor artist who is best known for her skyline paintings of southwest cities. She exhibited throughout the country and internationally. President Lyndon Johnson owned several of her work. This painting is a large example of her skyline work, items which seldom reach the secondary market. The work is not dated but obviously was painted after the auditorium was built in 1957 and probably before 1973 when the auditorium was expanded into the Dallas Convention Center. Prior to this listing, I thought the painting was the Houston skyline but was corrected by a eBayer who is likely from Texas.
