Purchased at auction in central New Hampshire over 30 years ago, an unsigned watercolor, three artists are possibilities… Charles James Keats, Cecil Jack Keats or perhaps Dennis Ainsley. I have narrowed the painting to late 1890’s to early 1900’s… it appears to be Saint Valfran in Abbeville, Normandie, France…. my guess is Charles James Keats in Abbeville, he has a very similar painting with people on the street circa 1902 and this is his first attempt. Please see photos for actual condition and obvious damage. My description and artist possibilities are based on similar works by this artist and since it’s unsigned only an educated guess. Actual work, measures 18 1/2 x 13 approximately, will include original frame.
