Dutch signed mid/late impressionist 20th century coastal painting boats &figures

A mid to late 20th century impressionistic oil on wood panel painting, featuring boats and figures on a beach at sunset, signed illegibly at lower right. The work has the feeling of a 19th century antique painting, but the panel is of a much later period. Measurements are 19 1/2" by 14 1/2" ( 24 1/2" by 19 1/2" as framed). The painting even though not terribly old has accumulated some dust and soiling. A cleaning would be beneficial though not mandatory. The signature is obviously that of a professional artist, though try I might, I am unable to decipher it.
