DOPEDOUT M (also known as Moth D.o.c) (1988, Italy) “Make it Rain/Money Rules” (2020) Hand painted original (#1/1) acrylic/spray paint diptych consisting of two canvas paintings each measuring approximately 27.5 x 20.5 inches (27.5 x 40 inches overall). The image features ‘Monopoly Man’ with a can of spray paint in one hand and his cane in the other. He appears to be proud of himself for having ‘tagged’ his surroundings with colorful phrases, a dollar sign, stars, etc. The work of art is signed, titled, and dated on the verso and includes a signed Certificate of Authenticity and multiple stickers. Moth’s art is produced on clothing, skateboards, the street, road signs as well as canvas. He has created artwork incorporating the images of the Pink Panther, Wonder Woman, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Popeye, and more. According to the ‘Artist Bio’ on the artist’s website, “Dopedout M (known on the walls as Moth D.o.c) was born in Rome in 1988 in a suburban area (Nomentana), where he was fascinated by the underground and graffiti hip-hop scene. In the 2000s, precisely in 2005, he decided to be part of it and began writing illegally on the walls and public transport of all Rome. The pinnacle of the artist's fame came in 2009/2010 in which the artist literally devastated the capital (and also other Italian cities) from north to south. After several complaints, he continued his activity, dedicating himself in parallel to paintings on canvas.
