this is a very cute acrylic painting of a Boothbay Harbor fishing trawler done by Southport, Maine artist Maria Doelp - this particular painting was part of an exhibition in 2014 at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation where it was sold to the original owner - I purchased the painting where it was being sold from an estate sale by an auction house located on the Maine coast - it is a nicely painted picture of a summer scene with the front half of the boat shown by the talented artist moored to its buoy on a calm Boothbay Harbor day - the talented artist created the fishing boat with a beautiful deep red colored hull juxtaposed against an off-white upper structure cabin area which includes good detail of the cabin, its windows, & its architectural lines - the red hulled fishing boat also contrasts wonderfully with the ocean bay water where the artist painted the calm water with a palette of pale blue-green, robbins-egg blue - she used dark red & black colors to depict the boat's shadow on the surface of the water - in the right corner of the painting, she placed an off-white buoy to which the boat's line is attached - another nice contrast in the painting is the deep green foliage that the artist placed in the upper right corner of the painting - the painting measures 12" x 12" sight size, & is in very good condition - it is enhanced by a thin black frame with two gilded borders within the frame -
