It is a BEAUTIFUL Large O/C MOONSCAPE PAINTING OF A MOUNTAIN LAKE SURROUNDED BY PINE TREES done by NAVAJO ARTIST FRED CLEVELAND. The subject of this Native American Hunter travelling by Canoe with it Wolf friend is just a perfect lifelike depiction. The color is perfect and actually evokes a chill from the night are when one looks at it. So Cool. It comes in super nice condition as described above and Pictured. This piece is 26.75" tall x 33" wide. It’s a beauty!! FRED CLEVELAND (Born 1943) His Navajo name is Kayannii Nez Begay. Fred Cleveland's paintings have been exhibited in such shows as the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair and Market, during which he won a prize in 1971, Intertribal Indian Ceremonials, Gallup, New Mexico, during which he won a prize in 1979 and the Museum of New Mexico in Santa Fe, New Mexico. From 1980-1984 he reportedly made posters for Bien Mur in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1991 he was working on illustrations for The Last Herd and was also illustrating Lon Cueva's Apache Folkfore. His work can be found in the collection of the Heritage Center Inc. Collection as well as at the Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, South Dakota.
