While working at furniture factory in the late 1960's, a tragic accident left him with his legs crushed and unable to walk. Encouraged to take up painting as a rehabilitative venture, Mose T eventually taught himself to paint in his unique style utilizing found objects, recycled wood (plywood, Masonite, old furniture), and housepaint.
