Quite often his works were misattributed to his famous brother. He also participated in the Salon Exhibitions of 1793, 1798 and 1800. This miniature depicting a gentleman in front of two columns strongly resembles in composition works of well-known French late-18th-century miniaturist Augustin Dubourg (for comparison, see our image nr.6).
