It was an early chilled morning in early March and I was on the road to LA. My associate and I (God rest his soul) were in a jovial mood having had coffee and a doughnut about 6AM as we'd left Kingman AZ and I was enamored with the sky and shadows on the desert floor! We stopped for a few hours as I needed to paint! So I was able to get two different views on canvas! This one is the later of the two. The other is not framed but can be found here on my ebay site. Paul was napping while I worked so it was a solitude that I enjoy as I paint. Watching the sun change and move into the upper sky as a plein aire painter it is something that you not only need to feel but anticipate as you lay down paint.
