It is a typical work of the well-known Bohemian (Czech), turn of 19th century miniaturist Antonin Bayer. He studied from 1801 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, and lived mainly in this city, with interruptions for Budapest (1821-23) and Vienna (ca. 1825).
