Small Antique Primitive Folk Art Winter Landscape Painting Signed Julien Dupre Oil on Board This piece was inherited from my aunt, a frequent attendee/customer of antique auctions and estate sales in southwestern New Hampshire. She also made several trips to Europe back in the 1970's and 80's. Painting is crude and somewhat primitive so not sure if it is an authentic Dupre painting, although the signature is similar to some of the ones I've seen on other paintings of his. Needs professionally cleaned, the colors hidden behind edge are much brighter/lighter. Done in oils on a fibrous hardboard, signed at bottom right, nice and flat, not warped. Paint is stable, not chipping or loose, quite thick, lots of texture. Measures 7-1/4" by 9-3/8".
