Antique Oil Painting Art Enchanted Medieval Castle on Lake Moat Signed Illegibly
Antique, circa mid 20th century original oil painting on canvas, signed illegibly in the lower right hand corner of a medieval castle with moat and monk in fishing boat with another figure at the shore. Painting is in overall very good condition with some heavier crazing here and there, namely around the fishing boat with the crazing/separation of paint lines thicker in this area and with small paint piece missing under the monk (see image 17). Painting is rendered in an impressionist style deploying impasto technique texture to the paint and uses warm colors to express and enchanting emotion. Painting is in a gold washed wooden frame and presents beautifully. Entire piece including the frame measures approximately 26 7/8 x 23 1/4. Painting itself measures about 21 3/4 x 18 1/4 inches.
