A fine early 20th C. Impressionist pastel painting on paper of a country village with a woman and children in the center, French school. Painting is signed indistinctly lower left with collection number verso, could be a sleeper. This well rendered scene is clearly done by a talented artist and the color palette is beautiful. It is in good condition overall with light surface wear, some toning from age, scattered small losses at edges, tack holes at top, etc. Once you add your mat and frame, condition on the outer perimeter will be hidden.
