Lovely antique paint of a Normandy area French oil painting on wood stretchers. It is reminiscent of a Millet or Cezane painting. A small country Catholic Church, eglise de village. There is a man in a beret hat and traditional blouse bleue smock. And other men dressed similarly. Very impressionistic with lots of leaves trees, probably autumn. Sized 14 inches wide by 11 inches tall. The edge has small nails. Signed in lower right corner. The surface of the canvas has some light ripples and some areas of craqueleure as typical for age. Some areas that have light wear but overall good. Displays well as is or you could have professionally cleaned.
