Alice Scott 1924-2005 One woman who found beauty in tough times in Charleston. This oil is awesome, 32"26" signed. Also, it is a great piece of history by a listed ARTIST. These come from the artist's collection. So please remember all my paintings are from purchasing her estate and are not perfect but good for age. Please contact the seller before purchasing with any questions. Please contact the seller before posting anything but 5 stars in feedback so that any issues may be resolved and we remain friends. Thank you Alice Scott (1924-2005), one original signed painting of Alice Scott. A collection of her paintings toured the United States and Europe with the opera Porgy and Bess. Alice Scott was born in Columbia, South Carolina, but grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, where she was active in both the theater and painting. She taught painting to both children and adults from her studio on Queen Street next to the historic Dock Street Theater. Her art career included studying with Robert Brackman of the Art Students League in New York City and Hainz Warneke, Don Turano, and Richard Lahey of the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, DC. Some of the galleries that have exhibited her works include: High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA Twentieth Century Gallery, Williamsburg, VA Gibbes Art Gallery, Charleston, SC Columbia Museum of Art, Columbia, SC Robert Carlen Gallery, Philadelphia, PA Pensacola Art Center, Pensacola, FL VZTOP Gallery, Pensacola, FL Charlestown Gallery, Charleston, SC Lemoyne Art Foundation, Tallahassee, FL Gallery of Art, Panama City, FL, plus other galleries! This is a wonderful opportunity for you to own a really big Alice Scott, a beautiful vibrant oil painting. These are sold as is! Limited time, if you look around, it's hard to find her work. People keep them in their collections!!! I ! GOD BLESS and is willing to entertain any reasonable offers!!! Message me if looking for anything about her, in Theater, artist guild, or just want to purchase a print or anything about Porgy An Bess!! All my shipping prices include materials, packing, shipping prices adding insurance plus traveling to the post office, and eBay 13.6 percent on my shipping costs so understand it might seem high, but I lose money on most! I use recycled materials for packing to reduce my footprint! You will have to message me to figure out shipping or dropping off for a fee at a store, police station, or somewhere public! On the East Coast and if interested I will take more pictures for you! On this one, the frame is a little loose ez fix it! All these should be cleaned and not perfect, as vintage. So you can make an offer. I will consider it so these go to a loving home! If you buy more than one listing, oh my, a good discount and all original info on Alice from her very own scrapbook! God Bless Also, I have boxes of more HISTORY to list. That just takes time. AND A few smaller ones, have just sold one on eBay for $1500 and a damaged one in an auction in New Orleans for over $2000. So now is the time to buy those sold recently, had none of her history with them, and that increases value greatly! If you lowball, you just get the painting. If a respectable bid is offered, I will add original info!! Please help me help you with some real history by a listed artist! May God Bless us all!
