Alessandro Nocentini Italian Modernist Vase of Leaves Listed Florence Artist

Outstanding "oil drawing" on paper of of a vase of leaves by noted Italian painter and printmaker Alessandro Nocentini (b. 1949). The following biography is from Atelier Antico Torchio in Florence: Alessandro Nocentini, painter and engraver, was born in Florence in 1949. Since 1971 he has worked with some of the most important galleries in Tuscany and in 1973 he held his first one-man show. He has participated in the main national and international engraving shows and held one-man shows in various Italian cities like Milan, Parma, Urbino and Arezzo. In 1980 he initiated business relations with the Gisele Linder Gallery of Basel where he exhibits every two years. In 1986, after noting his works at the Art Expo in Basel, gallery-owner Michael Dunev arranged a one-man show for him at his gallery in San Francisco. In 1989 he was one of the exhibitors at the 2nd Novecento in Tuscany, an art show organized by Gianni Pozzi for the Municipality of Rufina. During the nineties he held one-man shows in Frankfurt, Palo Alto (California), London, Tokyo, at ART EXPO Los Angeles, ART EXPO New York and in 2000 he exhibited at the Galleria Atelier Antico Torchio of Reggello (Florence). This original oil on paper (not a print) is an exceptional example of Nocentini's modernist style. It is signed lower center and titled "Foglie" lower left. The back of the frame bears a gallery label from Galleria Tornabuoni in Florence. The painting measures 15.25" x 12.75". In very good condition. Framed and matted as shown.
