LISTED: Provincetown Art Association, Askart. Fine rare oil painting -hard to find oil paintings by this artist and appears to mostly have done etchings and prints. Signed lower right, "A. Edel". Oil on canvas. Restoration needed -see photos, has some small abrasions and paint flecks on the right hand side of the painting, overall good vintage condition but restoration will be needed in a couple spot if desired. "Albert Edel was born in Soultz-les-Bains France in 1894. He died in Provincetown in 1970. He is buried in Franklin, Massachusetts. Though he painted in both oil and watercolor, he is best known for his intimate etchings of Provincetown of which he did approximately 60 different scenes over the years." SIZE: aprox. 23x29 framed, aprox. 18x24 unframed MEDIUM: oil on canvas CONDITION: Restoration needed -some paint flecks can be seen on the right hand side of the painting (see photos). Not very noticeable but are visible on close up view. Also a couple small abrasions and general age touchups needed. Vintage period frame is in overall good condition with some wear to edges. Vintage as found, oil on canvas.
