19th C. Austrian School Portraits Of Lovely Ladies With Austrian Coat Of Arms

***NOTE: PICTURES WERE TAKEN OUTDOORS IN BRIGHT NATURAL SUNLIGHT. COLORS ARE WARMER AND RICHER IN INDOOR LIGHTING****** For sale is a lovely pair of 19th century Austrian school portrait paintings. The paintings in their original black lacquer frames The paintings appear to be unsigned, but need a very good cleaning as there is surface grime throughout. Most likely never cleaned from their original condition. One portrait features a lovely young Austrian lady sitting on a floral wrapped rope swing, staring straight at the viewer. She is dressed in a very elegant dress with long ruffles and wearing a very fanciful hat. The other portrait features a lovely young Austrian lady in a long white flowing dress sitting in a wooded landscape with her hat on her lap and adorned with a fancy necklace and a pink rose corsage. She is gazing off to the left of the view. Each painting has a backer board stamped with Vom Bundesdenkmalamt zur Ausfuhr freigegeben" around the Austrian Empire coat of arms (see pics). Translates in English to: "Approved for export by the Federal Monuments Office (of Austria)" The Federal Monuments Office (BDA; German: Bundesdenkmalamt) is a department of the Federal Chancellery responsible for cultural heritage in Austria. It would review items that were of cultural importance to Austria. Items were marked as to whether they were able to be exported out of the country or immovable, and could not leave the country for cultural importance reasons. One painting with a paper label titled Frūhling (Spring) See pic. Condition: Both Paintings with darkened varnish with overall grime and surface soiling. Probably in untouched condition. They can easily be cleaned and revarnished. And should be. Both Paintings retaining their original black lacquer frames with age appropriate. Both with some losses to the frames as detailed in our pictures. The frames also can be conserved and it should be.
